USJ “Super Nintendo World” Is Set To Open On February 4, 2021
Universal Studios Japan has set to open the world’s first magnificent new area “Super Nintendo World” on February 4, 2021.
The whole area, a part of the world’s first ride attraction “Mario Kart ~ Bowser’s Challenge ~” and the inside of “Kuppa Castle” where “Mario Kart” attraction is located were unveiled today.
Surrounded by stone walls, the majestic castle is adorned with spiky, pointed iron fences, thick and heavy steel doors, and a huge stone statue of Bowser that even intimidates visitors. The world of the game is faithfully reproduced with a unique and profound structure such as a large staircase.
Feeling the overwhelming power and scale that Bowser is about to start moving, guests can experience the excitement and excitement of Bowser even before boarding the attraction at this Bowser castle.
The world’s first ride attraction “Mario Kart ~ Kuppa’s Challenge ~” will appear in the deepest part of the castle.
“Mario Kart ~ Bowser’s Challenge ~”, which fans all over the world have been waiting for, is the latest ride attraction that allows you to dive into the game world like its character Mario while you are in the real world. Guests will actually board the familiar “Mario Kart” in the game, grab the steering wheel, and start the race they dreamed of.
Guests can feel they have entered the world of the game as Mario and Luigi’s carts slip through the incandescent race right next to the guests who drift and spin on the course. During the race, guests will throw the swords they got from the item box to repel the enemy, and will compete for the first place with Mario and Princess Peach to advance the course.
The experience changes each time you ride, such as winning at one time and losing at another time, and it is a completely new “Mario Kart” experience that everyone can enjoy in real world.
In this attraction, many world-leading video technologies like AR, projection mapping, screen projection video, special effects including steam, and famous scenes of successive games reproduced on the course as a stage set are elaborately combined to create the world of “Mario Kart” in the real world.
Mr. Shigeru Miyamoto, CEO of Nintendo, his creative team and Universal Studios Japan spent over 6 years to make this happen.
