“Kyoto Yorozu Kancho” is a series program that introduces in four sections various things “Yorozu (ten thousand things)” about Kyoto, a town like a miniature garden surrounded by mountains on three sides, where various people and cultures are crowded together, old and new are side by side, mixed, tradition and evolution are mixed.
The latest episode, Episode 32, features a walk around Teranouchi-dori with a cultural scent. Each of theroads in Kyoto has different characteristics, forming a grid pattern. Teranouchi Dori is about 2 km from Karasuma Dori in the east to Lushan Temple Dori in the west in the northern part of Kamigyo Ward, Kyoto. The street was born by Toyotomi Hideyoshi’s urban development, and there are large temples near Myorikenji, Honhoji and Myorenji near Horikawa-dori.
In addition, there are tea ceremony museums, tea houses of the tea ceremony, Kyomachi cafes, etc. We will introduce plenty of streets that are suitable for walking.
Watch the program as a reference for walking around the city when traveling to Kyoto, after COVID-19 is over.
