Finally, it’s coming! Mitsui Fudosan (real estate) will add their 3rd Tokyo Midtown brand property this week. On March 10, Tokyo Midtown Yaesu will officially open right in front of Tokyo Station, which is a gateway to Tokyo and Japan.
And we participated in a press conference & media preview yesterday and had a chance to get to know more about the property and see commercial tenants there.
What CEO feels before opening
Mitsui Fudosan CEO Masanibu Komoda answered questions from Japanese media. “How does he feel now?”.
He says, “I’m very happy to see this project complete during my career”. He will retire from the current CEO position in June. Real estate project usually takes 10-20 years. He dreamed about the mixed-use, multi-purpose facility and now his dream comes true. And he was also pleased Bulgari Hotel decided to join their project. The hotel will open this April.
Komoda mentions their annual target sale is ¥70 billion with 10 million visitors.
Concept
Their commercial zone focuses on “Japan Brand” based on the property’s concept “Japan Presentation Field”. It will present Japan’s manufacturing spirit and brand value to the world. As we mentioned above, Tokyo Station is a gateway to Japan. So they will strive to become a landmark to create cross-communication between domestic and foreign visitors.
Mixed-use project
Tokyo Midtown Yaesu boasts an office, commercial section, hotel, bus terminal, medical clinic, and elementary school. And 4 & 5 floors are cross-business spaces called “Innovation Field: which needs to cover something that can’t be done digitally. They are basically co-working spaces, meeting rooms, and business exchange rooms. etc.
Also, Mr. Komoda proudly mentioned this building is Japan’s largest ZEB Ready property with green energy.
