The 59th Fussa Firefly Festival Returns After Five Years!
The Fussa Firefly Festival is back for the first time in five years! This magical event will be held on Sunday, June 9th, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
The festival will take place along Seseragi-dori Street, stretching from Fussa Firefly Park to the Fussa Welfare Center, and also at Fussa Third Junior High School.
Witness the Enchanting Dance of Fireflies
The highlight of the festival is undoubtedly the chance to see fireflies lighting up the night sky. Local residents have been carefully raising Genji fireflies, and visitors can witness their mesmerizing display at Fussa Firefly Park.
Festivities and Entertainment
Beyond the fireflies, the festival offers a variety of food trucks and other fun activities. The schedule includes:
- Performances by brass bands from local schools and the Fussa Brass Band
- Koto music by Senshu-ryu performers
- Hula dance performances
- A dance performance by the Yokota Tanabata Dancers
