Kpop boom in Japan
Do you like K-pop? Some people say K-pop boom is over in Japan but it’s still popular among enthusiastic fans.
I’m one of those passionate kpop fans. I’m not going into details on the ongoing Japan-Korea political/trade friction. I simply love Kpop/Kdrama. My No. 1 favorite group now is SEVENTEEN (managed by Pledis). I’m planning to go to their North America concert in San Jose next year.
Last year we went to SMT Tokyo, a restaurant owned by a Korean big talent agency SM Entertainment. The restaurant is located in Akasaka, Tokyo.

Back then I was drawn into one of their boys group, SHINEE. They are managed by SM Entertainment. I liked other group before them but the reason I was so into them was that one of the group members (Jonghyun) committed suicide. It was a tragic incident. I’m not going to talk about it. Probably some other time.

SMT Tokyo is a restaurant/goods shop. I wanted to buy some Shinee’s goods but they were all sold out. Also we had lunch there (You need to make a reservation in advance. There is a time limit too).

The menu is pretty simple. Main dish, Soup (usually Kimchi Soup), salad, drink and dessert.

If you are a SM Entertainment fans, I highly recommend this place. Be sure to book a table before you go.
