Original Roll Ice Cream Shop Opens In Kumamoto
The roll ice cream specialty store “ROLL ICE CREAM FACTORY” will open tomorrow on October 25 in Kumamoto’s downtown area, Shimotori.
In addition to launching a Halloween-exclusive menu at the opening, the first 100 customers will receive a jumbo mirror of the logo character “Shiro-kun”. Plus, a collaboration promotion with the popular anime “Toilet-bound Hanako-kun” will be running until November 5.
Roll ice cream originated in Thailand
“Roll ice cream” is a kind of dessert made by pouring liquid ice cream on a cold plate of -10 degrees or less and rolling it in front of customers. It’s originated from Thai food concessions and then became popular in New York.
The Japan’s first “ROLL ICE CREAM FACTORY” store opened in Harajuku / Omotesando in June 2017. You can make your own photogenic ice cream with original toppings, so it attracts young women who likes to “Instagenic” photos. It became popular enough to form a line even in winter.
After Harajuku, Osaka , Hiroshima
In addition to Harajuku, they opened stores all over Japan including Dotonbori Osaka, Tokushima, Hiroshima, Kawasaki, and Huis Ten Bosch in Nagasaki. And they are capturing the hearts of not only young women but also children and families.
“ROLL ICE CREAM FACTORY” is known for a sweet shop of maximum 7 hour waiting line in Harajuku. They were featured in on TV more than 130 times since its opening and has become a hot topic.

Also The Roll Ice Cream Factory has collaborated with numerous anime, movies, games, etc. For the new location opening along with the second new location Marui Family Mizonokuchi, these 2 locations will have the popular anime “Toilet-bound Hanako-kun” collaboration campaign through November 5.
The Roll Ice Cream Factory will open a new waffle brand “STICKY WAFFLES” in December next to the “Kumamoto / Shimotori store”. They will carry a “22 cm” super long waffles in a stick style.
