Old Sake brewery reborn as a hotel
Hotel “nol kyoto sanjo” will open in central Kyoto on November 1. It’s conveniently located 5 minutes walk from “Karasuma Oike” station.
The lobby lounge of this hotel is a renovated traditional Kyomachiya that was once used as a sales office for the Japanese sake brewery “Kinshi Masamune”, which was founded in Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto, and is a building full of emotion.
The design concept is “Kyoto Vintage”. Sanjo-dori street has always been the main street of Kyoto, and while it is conveniently located in the city, it is lined with not only Japanese architecture unique to the ancient city but also modern architecture built in the Meiji era. If you take a step outside the hotel, you will find a famous coffee shop, a restaurant using local food, a traditional stationery shop, etc. Experience “unique to this place” such as spending time at Kyomachiya and relaxing in Japanese clothes.
The hotel has a townhouse that has been around since the Edo period, and was once used as a sales office for Kinshi Masamune, a Japanese brewery founded in Nakagyo, Kyoto. The entrance can be used as a guest-only lounge where you can relax in a real townhouse. They also offer a welcome drink where you can enjoy the Japanese sake of Masamune Kinshi.
The guest rooms pass through an old townhouse and are located beyond the iconic Tsubo-niwa. They offer a total of 3 types and 48 guest rooms, theone for 2 people to the one up to 4 people, and the one for more spaciously with a Japanese-style room.
With Norio Hashimoto as the designer, the guest rooms have a high-quality taste that is aged with the townhouses over the years, and heal the tiredness of the trip while feeling the water in the Hiba bathtub.
Each guest room is equipped with a microwave oven and washer / dryer, and the standard guest room is equipped with a kitchenette so that even long-term guests can stay comfortably and in their own way.
Sanjo is a mixture of old and new, such contrasting elements. There are mysterious charms and new discoveries in this city. After walking around the area, enjoy Japanese sake at the Machiya Lounge.
