Fujikyu Highland “Fuji-Q Gyoza Festival” Starts On November 14! Good news for Gyoza fans!
An admission Free amusement park in Yamanashi pref. “Fujikyu Highland” will hold a food event “Fuji-Q Gyoza Festival” on November 14 through January 22, 2021.
Enjoy a wide variety of dumplings, including the original dumplings exclusive to this event, at the main restaurant “Food Stadium” in the park. 7 shops will participate in this event in different time frames.
Furthermore, Fuji-Q Highland official hotel Highland Resort Hotel & Spa‘s restaurant “Macaroni Club” will sell a pairing menu of dumplings made by the Chinese chef and wine carefully selected by the sommelier.

Grilled dumplings
① Nov. 14 ~ Nov. 27
White Gyoza (Noda, Chiba) “White Gyoza” ¥600/5pcs
A popular dumpling shop based in Noda City, Chiba. Since its establishment in 1960, the restaurant has grown to 26 stores nationwide. The huge bale-shaped dumplings have thick and chewy skin. The inside is hot when baked with plenty of oil.
② Nov. 28 ~ Dec. 11
Gyoza Hohei (Kyoto) “Ginger dumplings” ¥600/5pcs
The Gion Main Store has been selected as a Michelin Guide for the three consecutive years since 2017, and is one of the best gyoza specialty stores in Kyoto that is loved by Maiko and Geiko, and has three stores in Tokyo. Gyoza dumplings baked with the aroma of ginger without using garlic are very popular among women.
③ Dec. 12 ~ Dec. 25
Gyoza shop Okei (Chiyoda, Tokyo) “Royal grilled gyoza” ¥600/5pcs
Founded in 1954, this famous store in Tokyo sells 1,300 dumplings a day. It has been selected as a Michelin Guide for the three consecutive years since 2018. The crispy, chewy dumplings are simply seasoned but do not require sauce. Once you eat it, you will be addicted to it.
④ Dec. 26 ~ Jan. 8
Ishimatsu Gyoza (Hamamatsu, Shizuoka) “Ishimatsu Gyoza” ¥600/6pcs
Along with Utsunomiya and Yawata, this shop is the originator of Hamamatsu dumplings, which are said to be the three major dumplings in Japan, and has a long history of being founded in 1953. It is characterized by its light and juicy dumplings with plenty of cabbage, and is loved by many customers of all ages.

Suigo Toriya-san (Katori, Chiba) “Chicken wing dumplings” ¥700/3pcs
This shop has been featured in various media as a gourmet takeout, and in 2012, it has won the gourmet grand prize in the chicken section of the online shopping giant “Rakuten”. It is a volumey dish that uses carefully selected domestic chicken wings that can only be made at a chicken specialty store, and is packed with dumplings.

Menya Queen Bee (Ikeda, Osaka) “Shibikara Bite Mala Dumplings” ¥600/8pcs
The shop sold a total of 150,000 pieces at the dumpling event in 2019. More than 10 kinds of spices such as Japanese pepper and Japanese Sansho are used and they go well with dumplings. (while supplies last)

Gyoza STAND Kawaguchi (Sendai, Miyagi) “Boiled dumplings” ¥600/5pcs
The largest standing izakaya in Sendai focusing on dumplings. The handmade dumplings are an excellent combination of a rich and light soup with chicken dumplings and dried bonito flakes, and a water dumpling that overflows with gravy when chewed.

Shinjuku Kakekomi Gyoza (Shinjuku, Tokyo) “Highlander five-color dumplings”¥600/5pcs
A handmade dumplings with a chewy texture full of gravy collaborates with Fuji-Q Highland’s official character “Screaming Sentai Highlander”. The colorful grilled dumplings in 5 colors of red, yellow, pink, green and blue represents the character.

The restaurant “MACARONI CLUB” in the “Highland Resort Hotel & Spa” adjacent to Fujikyu Highland is offering “fragrant wine” pairing with the special dumplings made by the Chinese chef and the wine from Yamanashi prefecture carefully selected by the sommelier.
