Don’t Miss Mango Tree Cafe “Spicy & Herbs” Promo
For those who can’t stand the weather here, Don’t Miss Mango Tree Cafe “Spicy & Herbs” Promo !
How are you surviving Japan summer ? We saw on the TV a couples of days ago France is also going through abnormal heat, hitting 40c. And the problem there is only a small group of households have AC. No wonder because the average summer temperature is about 25.6c. When I was a child, there was no need to use AC as there were only a few days when the temperature went over 30c. Now it’s every day!
So Japanese restaurants are creating new promotions for Japanese people to overcome the heat! Among those restaurants, we featured Tokyo Tarako Spaghetti, Capricciosa and Noza Caza before and Mango Tree Cafe is one of them too.
What is Mango Tree Cafe?
Mango Tree Cafe a Thai restaurant founded in Bangkok, Thailand in 1994 and expanding to London, Japan, Dubai, Hong Kong and other countries around the world.
And following London, the Tokyo location opened as the 3rd store in the world in 2002. Under the theme of “Authentic Thai Cuisine”, they offer dishes that combine carefully selected Japanese ingredients with Thai herbs and spices and traditional cooking methods.
“Mango Tree Tokyo” has acquired the “THAI SELECT Signature” given to restaurants that have been evaluated as 5 stars by the Thai Ministry of Commerce.
Spicy & Herbs Promotion – Really spicy?
Yes, we went to their Ebisu location and tried their food exclusive for summer. And there are 3 dishes for this promotion. Please check our reaction video:
Deep-fried white fish topped with green papaya (¥759)
Crispy fried white fish topped with a spicy salad with somtam sauce with the sourness of Thai lime and the sweetness of coconut sugar, crispy green papaya, chili peppers, and petit tomatoes. The juicy sauce goes perfect with it.
Ground chicken satay with 3 kinds of sauce (¥979)
“Satay” (skewer) is a typical street food in Southeast Asia.
Mango Tree Cafe’s satay comes with “Spicy Sour Sauce”, which is often used in Thailand, “Spicy Mango Sauce” and “Peanut Sauce”.
Tom Yum cold noodles (¥1,089)
The next is cold noodles with a smooth and chewy texture and plenty of tom yum sauce which has an exquisite balance of “sweet, spicy, and acid”. Shrimp, prosciutto, wood ear, coriander, cucumber and plenty of ingredients complement the dish.
For those who want to enjoy more, they recommend the additional toppings (+¥275 each):
・ Herb topping (cilantro, mint, mizuna, additional sauce)
・ Veggie topping (broccoli, eggplant, bean sprouts, additional sauce)
We personally preferred herb toppings!
Summer drinks
Chocolate mint frozen cocktail (¥759) (¥539 when you order combo)
The drink is a real deal Choco Mint drink. As we said in the video, it’s not a “toothpaste” mint, it’s a real mint! Mocktail option for ¥682 (¥429 for combo).
Citrus mojito ¥759 (¥539 when you order combo)
Mojito made with rum, orange & “manao” (tie lime) juice. Plenty of mint, orange and key lime have a refreshing summer taste. Mocktail option for ¥682 (¥429 for combo).
