Digital Flower Park “HANA BIYORI” Features Bamboo Art This Year
HANA BIYORI, a digital flower art park in Yomiuri Land, Tokyo features “HANA Akari” from October 29 through April 9, 2023 (*Hana Akari not operated from January 4, 2023 to March 17, 2023).
Hana Akari is a collab effort of Hana Biyori and Take Akari.
It’s a limited-time winter lighting event where trees, flowers, and cultural properties are gracefully lit up. This year, CHIKAKEN, a Take Akari production group join the Hana Biyori and light up the area with bomboo art. They cut holes in 1,000 bamboo to light up.
In fact, Yomiuri Land, which is adjacent to Hana Biyori has winter lights but this Hana Biyori gives a bit different vibes to the park.

Hana Akari Path
The bamboo light production group “CHIKAKEN” created about 500 bamboo lights and the illumination of the cultural property “Sacred Gate”, which was relocated from the Kyoto Imperial Palace. Enjoy the peaceful space lit up by soft light.
Flower Mandala
Passing through the softly lit “Hanatokoji” and the sacred gate, a mysterious world with a sense of openness spreads out before you. And the most conspicuous object is “Flower Mandala”.
When you look closely, you will be fascinated by the delicately drawn patterns. And looking from a distance, you will be overwhelmed by the atmosphere that gradually draws you into the world of bamboo lights that are brilliantly incorporated in three dimensions.
In addition to that, you will be able to feel the change of the flowers of the four seasons from the gradation of the flower mandala with RGB colors.
Japanese Umbrellas
A part of the sacred forest area which is open to the public displays the Japanese umbrellas and the cultural assets “Tahoto” and “Hachisoshi”.
Flower Chandeliers & Cafe
In the HANA・BIYORI hall, you can see over 300 flower chandeliers, one of the largest in Japan. It is lit up at night, that makes it look different from that during the day.
Yes, there is a Starbucks cafe in the hall. I like this Starbucks. It’s very unique and give you a different experience with flowers and plants.
