Coronavirus outbreak
Here is what you can do for prevention for now
Are we heading to the end of the world? As you know, Coronavirus outbreak is a big issue globally right now. It started in China and is spreading in a rapid pace to neighbor countries and rest of the world. The US closed the airports except 11 locations to China, Chinese travelers as well as those who visited China in the last 14 days.
Honolulu’s newspaper reported 2 Chinese asylum seeker have been detained in federal facility. In fact they tried to enter the US before the strict entry regulations came into effect.
I think Japan should block Chinese entry to Japan as well. Even though China won’t send group tour(GIT) to Japan, individual travelers (FIT) still come. Chinese tourism market is big in Japan but it’s not the time to let them in now. Otherwise, it may be too late for Japan to stop spreading out within the country.
For now, there is no vaccine to cure the virus. Here is the prevention measures you can do.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
- If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Stay home when you are sick.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
