A Tokyo Japanese Garden Hosts Winter Night Festival
Happoen will hold “TOKYO BLUE GARDEN WINTER FESTIVAL 2023” starting on January 7 through February 12. The Japanese garden, which boasts a 400-year history that dates back to the Edo period, will be lit up in blue.
Under the winter night sky, the blue-lit garden is reflected on the surface of the pond, creating a magical world. Indulge in an extraordinary space where mysterious blue light flickers with delicious Japanese Sake.

Red in fall and early winter
The “TOKYO RED GARDEN AUTUMN FESTIVAL IKI” lights up the garden during autumn & early winter. They had a record number of visitors this year, and it was very well received as a foliage spot.
Weekend-only “Shirogane Yokocho”
On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, from 4pm to 8:30pm, “Shirogane Yokocho” will open in Happo-en for a limited time.
In Yokocho, they offer sake that you can enjoy by comparing different drinks, original blue cocktails, and “Shirokane Oden” that warms you up even in the cold winter. A whole daikon radish is cut to your desired size and served.
“MOON BAR” will open for moon viewing sake and seasonal moon dumplings
Happoen’s Japanese restaurant “Kochuan” will host “MOON BAR” with the concept of “moon”. In a historic garden lit up by the moon, enjoy a moment to feel the change of the seasons and atmosphere with the gin of “MOON BAR” supervised by Ethical Spirits Co., Ltd. and the seasonal taste “Seasonal Ball” inspired by the image of moon dumplings.
